Hummus Kawarma, Hummus with Spiced Ground Beef

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil Extra Virgin is best
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 1 1/4 Pounds Ground Beef
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • Pinch Nutmeg Freshly Grated
  • 1 teaspoon Za'atar Seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 Cup Hummus
  • 1 Tablespoon Tahini
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Mint

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, use a spoon to mix together the spices and 2 tablespoons of water into a paste.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high, add olive oil and saute the onions stirring with a wooden spoon, add the ground beef, stir continuously to break up the beef, add the paste of seasonings. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes. 
  • Off heat, stir in the lemon juice and cilantro. Taste and season with salt. Spoon over hummus, then drizzle with tahini and more olive oil. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and a chiffonade of mint.
